Our Library
Our mission is that The Library Media Center be the heart of our school here at H.E.S.. My goal is for every student to grow in their love of reading and to enjoy their time in the library. To achieve that goal, our library program offers various activities and events throughout the school year such as Book Fair, Author Visits. and Read-A-Thon.
In the library students will hear amazing stories as we read together at the couches. Our books are enhanced by exciting sound effects that bring each book to life. When it comes time to choose books for the week, students are guided toward books that match their interests.
Time permitting, students can choose between independent reading at the couches, chess, art, or STEAM Bins. Each activity provides opportunities for students to grow in their love of reading, creativity, practice problem-solving, engineering design, or critical thinking skills. Our students alsolearn valuable technology skills, tools, and coding.
Book Checkout:
- Students may check out three books for a two week period.
- Books may be renewed for an additional two week period by bringing the book to be rescanned in the library.

Online Public Access Catalog: Click the link to access our online catalog, OPAC. Students can search for books by keyword, title, author, subject, or series, and then, click “Details” to read book summaries and locate call numbers. To access eBooks, click on “Media”, select “eBooks” and search. Click on the second red title to open the eBook.
