CAMP S.M.A.R.T. 2019
Posted on 07/10/2019

This week at Camp S.M.A.R.T., students traveled around the world to explore different continents and countries as well as further explore the cultures and traditions practiced by students from all over the world. From exploring through the African rain forests to traveling Down Under to the Outback of Australia, students learned about different cultures through various read-alouds, art projects, and STEM activities. Students in reading and math classes practiced their skills with hands-on instruction to aid in reinforcing grade-level concepts; while in music, students practiced recognizing and identifying musical notes as well as honed their musical skills through the use of various instruments.

To showcase the students' accomplishments throughout the week, students performed the heartfelt song "You Say" by Lauren Daigle while the veteran fourth grade students incorporated sign language into the performance. Following the musical performance, students hosted an art walk. This allowed family and friends the opportunity to view the artwork that was made during the exploration of each country. Students left Camp S.M.A.R.T. with broadened knowledge of the different customs and cultures that make our world unique. It was a great week at Hayden Elementary's Camp S.M.A.R.T.!
